I fell in love with veterinary medicine as a sophomore in high school and volunteered many hours to a local veterinary hospital as well as the local shelter. I graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in 2000 and spent the next 3 years working at a large general practice as an LVT, as well as attending the University of Denver. I received my BS in Animal Science in 2003. I always knew veterinary medicine was the career path I belonged on and strangely enough, my career goal has always been hospital management.
My husband and I moved to SC in 2005 and I dedicated myself to veterinary internal medicine for the next 5 years. Primarily I was an IM tech, but I also oversaw projects such as OSHA, AAHA, and anesthesia safety.
I received my MBA in Business Administration while managing a practice for NVA in Beaufort, SC. I absolutely fell in love with practice management and knew my career would somehow involve both specialty medicine and management.
My husband, Tom, is a professional auctioneer. We have four children together, Jacob, Colton, Ramsey, and Lilah. We also share our home with our dog, Charlotte, two cats, Soldier and Camo, a leopard tortoise, Tuck, and a bearded dragon, Spike. There is never a dull moment in our house!
