I moved to the mountains of WNC from the cornfields of the Midwest in 2007. After working as a newspaper reporter for nearly 10 years, I decided I wanted to do something different. I enrolled in the veterinary medical technology program at AB Tech in 2010 and earned my A.A.S in 2012. Although I worked at a dog daycare during school, R.E.A.C.H. is my first animal hospital job. I like the variety of cases and fast-paced setting of emergency medicine. I have two rescue dogs – a hound mix named Kima and a beagle mix named Beadie (yes, they are named after characters on “The Wire”). In my free time, I enjoy walking Beadie and Kima around West Asheville, playing guitar, reading and going to Asheville Tourists games. I also am a fan of University of Iowa football and most Chicago professional sports teams.
