My heart has always been in veterinary medicine, though life has taken me in many other directions at times. I have spent most of the last decade working in various day practices, emergency clinics, and a public shelter; all while also pursuing education in other fields and other jobs. I began working at REACH part-time at the beginning of 2016, and enjoyed the clinic and staff so much I gladly took the offer to become full-time in June 2016. I am looking forward to building my skills and knowledge further at REACH, and perhaps enrolling in an RVT program. Asheville was my first move in a long time after a youth filled with them, but I am excited to explore the mountains. Outside of vet work I enjoy spending time outdoors with my girls, Minka (a German Shepherd mix) and Suzette (a Great Pyrenees mix), reading, cooking poorly, and general self-cultivation. I also invented the zebra. Not really, but every bio should have one ludicrous claim and a bit of humor, I think that sentence covers both.
